Catching up with Lisa Clark

It’s been a busy couple of months here at BAAS and I wanted to take a moment to quickly update you!
Firstly, I want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who has welcomed me to BAAS and helped with our (ongoing) transition. It has been incredible to join such a caring community. I can’t wait to meet even more of the BAAS family and continue to build this organization, our programs, and services together.

Andrea after the process…

The next step in the process – our site visit – will take place October 15 and 16. Keep us in your thoughts those days (and maybe send more coffee and chocolate!) We’ll be sure to let you know when we’ve completed the entire process.

Right after we submitted our re-accreditation paperwork, Andrea and I packed our bags and headed to the Philippines for the Global Consultation on Child Welfare Services (my first time attending).

First day of the conference – ready to get started

While we’re here, we’ll also be meeting with government representatives and NORFIL as well as visiting several children’s homes. We’ll be visiting the homes this Saturday and are excited to be bringing donations the BAAS community generously collected for us, as well as some special gifts we hand carried from families who’ve been matched with children and are waiting to bring them home.

We could barely fit all the fantastic donations in our extra suitcase!

We’ll be sure to share more pictures and updates once we’re back in town! In the meantime, if you have any questions or just want to touch base, please feel free to email me any time. Thank you again for your support these last couple of months – I feel privileged to be a part of this community.
